I wouldn’t call them useless. Performance counters are commonly used in games to calculate frame time. This would make these games run way too fast.

Do not expect noticeable gains from this. In many cases you will not be disabling the update of these counters but only the means of accessing them.

Installing and then disabling. Don’t know if all should be disabled for error logging though. But this would increase speed.

You should start up a manual system, test it for speed and apply all of your hacks and see what the difference in speed is!
