I used firefox for years but since I got my new computer I have been using safari instead. I never thought about the open source aspect of it all, the plug ins etc. I liked ff, I just never got around to installing it again, I should give it another look see I guess.

I have never looked back since switching to FF – there are very few times I need to open IE infact only when I follow a link from MSN Messenger does it open. How do I stop messenger opening only IE and not using FF?

I really must disagree. It’s just like the MAC users who insist that the MAC is so secure that it doesn’t need an anti-virus. The reality is that should a hacker or virus-writer turn their attentions to a MAC or FIREFOX with the same scrutiny that Microsoft suffer then both the MAC and FireFox would prove to be just as riddled through with securiy holes as any other product out there.

Firefox did used to be very secure, because it was rarley used, as its user base has grown more people are actually looking for exploits, and finding them, in the past they simply went unnoticed.
