Allow secured sites to open pop up windows

Pop ups are nasty. They are mostly spam. They distract your concentration and are a huge drain on your bandwidth. They slow your Internet connection and the main web page, takes more time to get loaded.

So modern browsers come equipped with the pop up blocker codes, which effectively block all the attempts of a website to open a pop window. And this saves you.

But, the world doesn’t end here. There are certain pop up windows, which you require to be opened. For instance, many of the banking and finance websites, which open a pop up window, where you enter your login and passwords.

If you block pop ups, there are chances that you will not be able to see these windows and you have to manually allow each such site to open pop ups.

But there is an alternative method also.

This requires you to edit your windows registry. No need to panick. Be careful to follow the instructions, and you can easily allow Internet Explorer to open pop up windows for all https websites. (This tip requires you to be running on Windows XP SP 2)

Click Start > Run.
Type REGEDIT > Enter.
Find the following key in the left pane

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ New Windows.

Double-click the value AllowHTTPS in the rigth pane and change it’s value to 1.
Save registry and restart Windows.

This is the second part of the two part series on How to delete browser history. In the first part here, we have told, what information is generally saved by the browsers in their history and how to delete browser history in Internet Explorer.

In this post we will tell you a method for deleting firefox and Opera browser history.

Firefox

It provides a one-stop solution for deleting private information.

Click Tools > Options and select Privacy tab.
To delete cookies, select Cookies tab > click Clear Cookies Now button.
Similar “Clear all” buttons can be found under the History, Saved Forms and Cache tabs.

There is also a shortcut for deleting private information.

Click Tools > Options.
Click Privacy tab and Click Settings button.
Under the Private Data, choose, what items of history you want to delete.

Opera

Click Tools > Delete private data.

Click Advanced button and specify the items of history, which you want to delete.

Modern Web browsers are smart. They are fast, they are intelligent and are able to record every activity of yours in their history. This gives them speed. With the stored browser history and their cache, they are able to quickly retreive web pages, which you often visit.

History: Recorded by the browser to let you search the past, in case you have forgotten to bookmark an important page visited earlier.

Forms: The information like various user names, billing addresses, phone numbers are the sensitive information, which is used by the browsers so that you don’t need to type them again and again. But this information can easily be misused by others.

Cache: The earlier visited pictures and web pages are temporirily stored so that if you visit next time, the page is quickly loaded. So, now you come to know, how important information is stored in your browser history.

So, how to clear the browser history

Different browsers adopt different methods. We will quickly let you know about them

Internet Explorer

Click Tools>>Options.
To delete cookies, go to General tab. Click the Delete Cookies button.
To clear your history, click the Clear History button. If you want to selectively delete the web pages, then Click History button in the IE main menu window. A side bar will appear with all the sites you have visited in recent past. Use right Click > Delete.
To clear cache, click the Delete Files button. Check the “Delete all offline content” check box and then click OK.
To clear form information, Click on the Content tab > AutoComplete button. Then click the Clear Forms button.

With these four steps, now your Internet Explorer is almost clear of your history.

FileZilla is arguably the most popular FTP program in use today. It is safe, versatile and quick with easy user interface.

But you have to download it and run as a separate application. It is sometimes irritating to open another application, while surfing through your browser.

If you are looking for web tools for designing a web page without being an expert, you would most probably be analyzing the formatting, layouts and designs used by different websites.
